Corona Virus Vaccine to be produced on 12 Aug by Russia

In pic : Russia to produce first corona virus vaccine.

Russia is all set to launch next week's first COVID-19 vaccine in the world, according to news, despite the growing number of coronavirus cases worldwide. The vaccine was developed by both the Gamaleya Research Institute and the Russian Ministry of Defence. The vaccine is to be released on 12 August.

The vaccine is currently being tested on about 1,600 people after registration to ensure its safety and efficacy.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin instructed state officials in April to minimize clinical trial periods for a number of medications, including possible coronavirus vaccines.

Clinical trials of the vaccine between 76 volunteers began on June 17. According to news agency AP, half were injected with a vaccine in liquid form and the other half with a vaccine which came as soluble powder.

On Tuesday, the World Health Organization urged Russia to adopt the guidelines developed for the development of safe and effective vaccines after Moscow announced plans to start manufacturing COVID-19 jabs quickly.

In Madhya Pradesh Mine, Laborers find Diamonds Worth Rs 35 Lakh

A labourer became a millionaire overnight when he discovered three diamonds worth Rs 30 lakh to 35 lakh at a diamond mine in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district, a senior official said Thursday.

The labourer, known as Subal, found three diamonds with net weight of 7.5 carat while digging a shallow mine, said diamond officer RK Pandey from Panna district.

Experts priced the gemstones from Rs 30 lakh to 35 lakh anywhere.

The labourer deposited the stones at the diamond office in the district, and they will be sold at auction in compliance with government laws, Mr Pandey said.

Subal will get the remaining 88 per cent of the selling proceeds after deducting 12 per cent tax, the official said.

A couple of days ago, another labourer managed to find a 10.69 carat diamond from one of the Panna mines in Madhya Pradesh's Bundelkhand district.

Panna is world famous for its diamond mines otherwise located in a backward zone.

New Zealand marks its 100th day without any community transmission of Covid 19

New Zealand recorded its 100th consecutive day without any community transmission, rendering the 5 million-strong Pacific island nation one of the safest countries in the world.

New Zealanders have returned to normal life with global cases rising at more than 19.6 million, 726,000 suicides, with many nations reimposing restrictions. However, authorities are worried that citizens still declined testing, did not use government touch tracing software, and also violated simple hygiene regulations.

New Zealand has 23 active cases in controlled isolation facilities, and in total so far, 1,219 Covid-19 cases.

"Achieving 100 days without community transmission is a big accomplishment but, as we all know, we can not afford to be complacent," said Health Director General Dr Ashley Bloomfield.

"We have seen worldwide how rapidly the virus can arise and spread in areas where it was previously under control and we need to be prepared to root out any potential cases in New Zealand promptly," he said.

PM Narendra Modi laid the groundwork for Ayodhya 's controversial Ram Temple

                                               Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan: PM मोदी ने कहा ...
In pic : PM Modi in Ayodhya for Bhumi Pujan.

The Supreme Court ruled in November 2019 that the contested land should be handed over to a Govt-run trust to create a temple

In 1992, a mob demolished the site of a 400-year-old mosque, causing riots that left almost 2,000 dead.  Wednesday's ceremony marks the end of Bharatiya Janata Party's election campaign.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Ayodhya — 29 years after his last visit to the temple town — where he took part in a "Bhoomi Pujan" ceremony marking the construction of a grand Ram temple there. He addressed a group of spiritual leaders who had come to witness the grand event following the ceremony that saw PM laying a silver brick for a grand Ram temple.

Considering the coronavirus, the guest list for the grand event has been heavily shortened. In addition to PM Modi, the ceremony was attended by 50 VIPs including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began and ended his speech on Wednesday at the Ram Temple site in Ayodhya, chanting "Siyavar Ramchandra ki Jai" and "Jai Siya Ram," addressing both Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, and saying that these slogans are vibrating not only in this city but throughout the world.

Shortly after Ram temple's "bhoomi pujan" ceremony in Ayodhya, Mohan Bhagwat, president of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), said on Wednesday that today is the start of a new India.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust chief Mahant Nritya Gopal Das said Wednesday that building Ram Temple in Ayodhya is a work of public welfare and is like building nation and world.

The foresight and experience of Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the way for a peaceful settlement of the Ram temple problem and fulfilled the Indians' dream after 500 years of "long and hard" struggle, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday.

Nine bricks were placed on Wednesday at the site for the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya as part of the "bhoomi pujan'.'

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput 's death case is turning each day into a new chapter. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said his government had submitted a request to the case for a CBI investigation. It came after the father of Sushant talked to the Bihar DGP, and gave his consent to a CBI investigation.

Nitish Kumar posted on Twitter, "The state government has submitted to the FIR filed by Sushant Singh Rajput 's father KK Singh his request for a CBI investigation."

In the meantime, the statement of Siddharth Pithani, Sushant 's friend and creative content manager has been registered by Bihar Police. They also reported the actor's manager Deepesh Sawant 's statement.

Mumbai Police on Tuesday hired Grant Thornton as the forensic auditor in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput, a police official told PTI.

This is how Ram Mandir will look like.

In pic : Proposed design of Ram mandir.

The design of the proposed Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been launched online by the trust monitoring its building, a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's inauguration ceremony and other top leaders.

A collection of pictures revealed a large three-story building of stone on an elevated platform with several walls, pillars and domes. According to its builder the temple would be 161 feet tall and nearly double the size of what was originally designed.

The interiors feature a high dome with intricate carvings.

The model was changed following the November Supreme Court decision on the 2.77 acre site claimed by both Hindus and Muslims, where the Babri mosque of the 16th century stood until it was burned to the ground in 1992 by Hindu activists who alleged it was constructed on the remains of an ancient temple marking Lord Ram's birthplace.

The Supreme Court said the site was being handed over for a Ram temple and Muslims should be given an alternate five-acre location.

Architect Chandrakant Sompura, who belongs to a family of temple builders, was asked to design the Ram temple some 30 years ago. His father Prabhashankar Sompura planned and supervised the renovation of the Somnath temple.

Mr Sompura, 77, told India's Press Trust that he had adopted the design "Nagara theme."

The concept was modified to have five domes to suit more devotees, instead of two. A shikhara or tower overlooking the sanctum sanctorum will be installed.

The construction will begin after the "bhoomi pujan" or historic ceremony featuring PM Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Chief Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Mohan Bhagwat, apart from 175 spiritual leaders. Building the temple will take about three years, the architect said.

Sushant Singh Rajput : Murder or Suicide ?

In pic : Late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ordered a CBI investigation in the facts behind the death of Sushant Singh Rajput; the actor "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" was found dead on 14 June at his Mumbai apartment.

The chief minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, and home minister, Anil Deshmukh, both had previously ruled out a CBI probe.

The FIR, filed by KK Singh, says Ms Chakraborty mentally abused his son and deposited Rs 15 crore from his Mumbai bank account illegally.

The investigation by Bihar Police is based on transactions involving enterprises founded by Mr Rajput, along with Ms Chakraborty and her brother.

Mr Singh said on Monday he had alerted Mumbai Police of the danger to the life of his son but no action was taken. Soon after, the cops retaliate, claiming that they had not received a written report and that the family had neglected to mention their doubts in the days immediately following Mr Rajput 's murder.

In pic : Sushant with his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.

Mumbai Police have also said that at this stage there is no evidence to indicate that Ms Chakraborty was engaged in financial wrongdoing. They also said that Mr Rajput was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and got treatment.

Nitish Kumar 's call for the CBI to pursue the case received a rude reply from Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who suggested inviting the KGB (Russian Secret Service) and the CIA from the United States to the investigation as well.

Demands for the CBI to take over the case have been rejected by some legal experts, who pointed out that the governmental party has no authority unless it is either approached by the state in which the alleged crime occurred (in this case, Maharashtra) or given the case by the High Court or the Supreme Court.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court will hear one part of this matter - a petition by Ms Chakraborty demanding shifting of the case against her, filed by Mr Rajput's father in Bihar, to Mumbai.

The chief of the BJP is not the only one claiming the murder of Sushant Singh Rajput.

Neeraj Bablu, BJP MLA and Mr Rajput's brother-in - law, made the same argument at the Bihar assembly yesterday and reinforced the popular call for a CBI investigation in the conditions behind the death of Mr Rajput.

Dozens Killed and wounded in Beirut, Lebanon blasts.

In pic : Explosion in Beirut, Lebanon

Two major blasts shook the port of Beirut on Tuesday, killing at least 27 people and injuring thousands of others, shaking remote buildings and leaving the Lebanese capital in terror and confusion.

The thunderous second explosion shot a massive orange fireball into the sky, demolished the harbor and tore through the city with a tornado-like shockwave, smashing windows miles away.

Bloody casualties staggered through central Beirut between rubble and burning buildings as Health Minister Hamad Hassan announced an initial estimated 27 deaths and 2,500 injuries, calling it a "disaster".

A port soldier told AFP: "It's a tragedy inside, corpses are on the ground."

Relatives of people working inside the blast zone assembled at a security barricade as they were searching for their loved ones' news.

The explosions were heard as far away as Nicosia, 240 kilometers (150 miles) from the eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

The reason of the blasts was not clearly known, but a senior official, General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim, said that seized explosive materials had been stored in the port of the city.

An Israeli government that asked for confidentiality said to AFP: "Israel has nothing to do with this incident."

Lebanon 's President Michel Aoun asked for "urgent" council talks on security, while Prime Minister Hasan Diab announced a day of grieving on Wednesday.

At the scene minutes after the explosion, an AFP correspondent said every shop in the commercial center of Hamra had suffered damage, with entire stores flattened, windows broken and several cars smashed.

A massive flame sent dark smoke from the port city, as helicopters poured water on buildings that were burning. There was a ship on fire moored off the harbour.

The explosions struck a nation that has already been suffering from the worst economic crisis in decades, leaving nearly half of the population in poverty and the coronavirus pandemic as well.

The blasts also came three days before a verdict by a UN tribunal on the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, who was killed in a major truck bomb attack in 2005.

Wearable legs help paralyzed walk once more.

                     In Pic : Wearable cyborg

Earlier this year, the Brooks Cybernic Treatment Center in Jacksonville , Florida, became the first US facility to use Japan 's innovative recovery equipment — the Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL).

HAL — basically a wearable cyborg — helps people with spinal cord injury and muscular dystrophy recover their mobility and improve their nerves and muscles. They 're a form of lightweight suit, known as exoskeletons, with joints driven by small electric motors that act as mechanical muscles.

Here's what's really mind-blowing: to monitor them, patients use their brain waves.

But the advantages are not just those with disabilities or injuries. By 2050, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), there will be more than 2 billion people over the age of 60 and exoskeletons could provide a solution to the ageing population in the world.

An exoskeleton — driven by active minds — could help people remain on their feet in the future as human bodies wear down with age.

According to research company Markets and Markets, with such huge potential applications available, the global medical exoskeleton market will be worth an estimated US$ 2.8 billion by 2023.

Spectacled billionaire roboticist Sankai is the brain behind HAL. He is head of the Cyberdyne Japanese company — founded in 2004 — where his vision was to create these "wearable cyborgs" designed to "fuse man, machine and information."

And although Sankai 's name can recall the scary Cyberdyne Technology that created villainous robots in the "Terminator" U.S. science fiction blockbuster, the Japanese roboticist wants to build software not for war but for peace and rehab.

An island off the Cape Cod coast is open to the public for the first time in 300 years.

In pic : Sipson Island Trust

Sipson Island has been a private property since 1711, when it was sold to White settlers by the Monomoyick people. Now, with the aid of a local non-profit, the newly minted Sipson Island Trust aims to preserve and care for the island, leveraging the Native American meaning to see land as a gift for all to use.

The 24-acre island, which opened on Saturday, is situated just off Cape Cod 's coast in an area known as the Pleasant Bay — an area of serious concern for the environment.

Throughout the Pleasant Bay area, visitors can enjoy hiking, sandy beaches, snorkeling and 360-degree views.

The issue here was the cost. It had been a hefty price for a non-profit at $12 million. The company The Friends of Friendly Bay finally helped collect the money and stretch the closing date to make it possible in the last four years. The private trust established for $5.3 million to manage the island closed on the property in June.

Now that it is completely accessible to the public, tourists are welcomed from the East Shore to enter the island. Nonetheless, due to the fragile environment in the water only shallow draft boats under 22 feet can land.

The five-year plan is to rip down three of the island 's existing four buildings to construct and develop an open-air science and educational centre. The aim is to preserve the island's ecosystem, support and work on ecological and historical education, and provide for public leisure in and around Sipson.

There are still eight acres on the property that aren't under the name of the trust, and they intend to collect the funds quickly to get the whole island under the protection of the trust.

There might never be a "Silver Bullet" of COVID-19, says WHO.

In pic : Hope to provide some successful vaccines to keep people from being infected: Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus

The World Health Organization reported on Monday that given the effort to discover successful vaccines, there could never be a "silver bullet" for the new coronavirus!

The WHO advised governments and people to concentrate on doing the established necessities such as monitoring, touch tracking, maintaining physical distance, and wearing a mask to contain the pandemic that has caused a catastrophic economic crisis that has disrupted normal life across the globe.

According to a count from official sources collected by AFP, the novel coronavirus has killed nearly 690,000 people and infected at least 18.1 million since the epidemic began in Wuhan , China last December.

On July 10, the United Nations Health Agency sent Beijing an epidemiologist and an animal health expert to lay the foundation for a trial to determine how the virus reached the human race.

Scientists suspect that the killer virus transferred from animals to humans, likely from a market in Wuhan City where exotic animals were sold for meat.

Early in the outbreak, Chinese officials said the virus may have spread from a city market that sold live and wild animals, but no further confirmation has been revealed about that.

Chinese firm filed a lawsuit against Apple Inc.

Chinese artificial intelligence firm Shanghai Zhizhen Intelligent Network Technology Co, Ltd, also branded as Xiao-i, has filed a lawsuit against Apple Inc. citing violation of  its patent.

The company is asking for 10 billion yuan ($1.43 billion) in compensation and demanding that Apple ceases to "manufacture, use, agree to use, use, and import" goods that violate the patent, it said in a social media message.

Xiao-i claimed that Apple's Siri voice-recognition technology violates a patent it applied for in 2004 and was granted in 2009.

Apple declined to respond to a request for comment. For a copy of the court filing, Reuters was not immediately available.

The case marks the start of a chain that has lasted for almost a decade.

Shanghai Zhizhen initially sued Apple in 2012 for copyright infringement of its voice recognition technology. In July the Supreme People's Court of China ruled the patent was valid.

Union Home Minister of India Covid 19 Positive

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has tested positive for coronavirus that has infected the country's more than 17 lakh population. Sources said he was admitted to Medanta hospital, located in Gurugram western Delhi, western Haryana. In a tweet, the minister said his health was "fine," but "on the advice of doctors" he was hospitalised. He also asked all those "who got in touch with me.

Sources said substantial contact tracing will be done and anyone who has come in contact with the minister will have to isolate themselves.

Mr Shah, 55, took part in Wednesday's cabinet meeting joined by all top ministers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh, and Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman. During the critical conference, where the National Education Policy was accepted, all safety requirements like social distancing were observed.

Although most of PM Modi's meetings are now held online, there are not digital cabinet meetings.

Today more than 17 lakh cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country-adding more than one lakh patients to the list in just two days. The pandemic has resulted in the death of an Uttar Pradesh official. Kamal Rani Varun, 62, died on Aug 3 at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow.

54,735 cases of the disease have been reported over the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 17,50,723, Health Ministry data showed.

The jump came when last week the country rolled out Unlock 3-the third step of lifting restrictions. Nevertheless, the government has yet to open places that see a huge crowd including schools and universities, cinema halls, swimming pools, pubs, and assembly halls. Last month many states declared lockdowns in various degrees as numbers spike.
