In Madhya Pradesh Mine, Laborers find Diamonds Worth Rs 35 Lakh
The labourer, known as Subal, found three diamonds with net weight of 7.5 carat while digging a shallow mine, said diamond officer RK Pandey from Panna district.
Experts priced the gemstones from Rs 30 lakh to 35 lakh anywhere.
The labourer deposited the stones at the diamond office in the district, and they will be sold at auction in compliance with government laws, Mr Pandey said.
Subal will get the remaining 88 per cent of the selling proceeds after deducting 12 per cent tax, the official said.
A couple of days ago, another labourer managed to find a 10.69 carat diamond from one of the Panna mines in Madhya Pradesh's Bundelkhand district.
Panna is world famous for its diamond mines otherwise located in a backward zone.
